Wonderful Summer flower quilt

The cutest little girl quilt ever!

My customer made this quilt for her granddaughter and it is just one of the cutest quilts ever. :)

 This is a photo of the whole quilt. We were having some rain here in Bonney Lake, so I couldn't photograph the quilt outside, and I had to deliver the quilt. :(

 Here is a closeup of the feathered flowers, and the background swirl. I love the swirl in the background.

 Here are a couple photos that include the feather border. and the cute little pots that I just love.

 I had so much fun with this quilt. I love the Lakehouse fabrics. The colors work so well with the theme of the quilt.

What a great quit. I need to make one, I really liked the way the final quilt looked. The quilt was lightly quilted, but what a great final product.

BOM Madness!

So I have been so busy all month, I left all of my Blocks to the last minute! I had 3 of them due. 

• Memories of Provence
• "Fat Quarter Shop's" Mystery Block using the "Vintage Modern" fabric line by Moda
• and Redwork Revival, This is a quilt my friend and I are designing this with one of the LQS here in the Tacoma area. I still had to write the directions and get all the cutting instructions finished. 

Talk about falling behind! So below you will see all the cutting I had to get finished, before I could even get started sewing. I took 2 hours to cut them, and about 3 to get them all sewn together. What a time hole. :)

One more month done, I hate this quilt. Way too much cutting an sewing, trimming and sewing...
besides, I am not crazy about the fabric.

And....This is what I had on the frame.

A couple photos of the quilt out in the sun. Wow, It looks good to me, I hope she is happy with it.

This is from a coworker, it took her almost a year to stitch, and then I had it in my lineup for almost 6 months.

 And then... The Garden Bliss class is coming soon!

 Lots of cutting and getting ready to teach the class. I have so many projects going I hope I can remember them all. This is the start of the quilt. Lots of cutting and getting ready to sew. This quilt is so easy to sew together. I make it harder by being such a stickler for pressing and pinning. It takes so much time to be a pressing fanatic, but it is so perfect when you are finished, I am happy to
oblige.  I just love a square quilt. I had posted some pictures of this quilt I posted earlier last month, the fabric was California Girl, by Fig Tree Quilts. I love the quilt in any fabric so far. (I want to get one finished with Christmas fabric and quilt it like Christmas balls.)

Okay, I have to get back to quilting, and I will try to step up the posts a little more regularly :)

Thimbleberries quilt

 Another Thimbleberries quilt is finished.

a good view while I have the quilt on the frame.

 It is a little different view... the feathers and swirls are a little easier to see in this view. My favorite part is the shell shape in the corners of the green dot fabric.

You can really see the wood grain I added, and if you look in the corner square you can see the feathered wreath.

In this shot you can "kind of" see the swirls in the blue.

I have been busy

I call it Garden Bliss!
It is beautiful, I just love the fabric line California Girl by Fig Tree Quilts.









This is my new pattern. I am so lucky, I finished the design while I was sick, and I couldn't quilt on the longarm. But the minute I thought I stand and quilt, I couldn't get started soon enough. I knew exactly what I wanted to quilt on it. I think it is beautiful. But... I am a little bias.
My friend Lisa and I were talking and I didn't know what to call it, but I had an idea what I wanted to portray, she came up with the name and I couldn't be happier.
I should have the pattern finished and ready to sell in a couple weeks.
The quilt measures 56" x 72", it uses a layer cake and 2 yards of background fabric.

Minnesota Hot Dish Quilt

This is my customers first quilt. I tried to get a photo where you could see the great background I did on this quilt.


I never like using the Rainbow or Lava thread. I am a total tone on tone kind of girl (I worked tone on tone into the the black background). But... I must say this looked pretty good in person and I am proud of how it turned out. I did the feather wreaths on all the colored squares. I then followed the long cross on the quilt with a whimsy little leaf. I think it probably looked better in person than these images show.


The feather was dependent on the size of the cross. I think it worked out in the end and I liked how it gave the blocks some attitude.


Then I had the piano keys that I just did a row of feathers on. I think the color of the thread worded out and I did get a little goofy in a couple places, but I think they still look good.

Here is the whole quilt. I can't wait for summer when I can get some better photos. I am totally not able to get the great background on this quilt.

Hot off the frame

Here is where I will start. ...


This is a customer quilt that took a little longer than I expected. I just kept going and going, before I knew it, I had been at it a week. I had a couple distractions but I worked on it pretty steady for a couple days.
The first photo is a picture of the quilt draped on the frame just after I finished it.
...and now for the best part...
Here are a couple of the blocks.


























Here is the border with piano keys. I just love the way a quilt looks with the piano keys added to the feathers.

Here is a shot of the quilting in process. I always like taking these kind of pictures...let me see if I can find another one. It looks so cool to see the quilt in process. These blocks look so lofty because my customer requested wool batting.
This quilt just looks so good to me. I fully enjoyed making the quilting fit the quilt. I hope my customer likes the quilt as much as I do. I think this quilt is so nice, I am excited to get going on my "Love Letters" quilt that I have been sitting on for a couple months now. I better get busy...
